Position:
Toxicological Scientist II (Toxicologist) with cell culture and DMPK experience - Screening and Assay Development
​

​​Description:
The Screening and Assay Development group seeks a graduate in Toxicology, Toxicological Sciences or a related discipline, with experience in cell-based assays and HTS. The primary responsibility will be to conduct chemical testing and interpret PK data and mechanism-informing toxicity data from the in vitro assays. The preferred candidate would have extensive experience with high-throughput screening (HTS), ADME/drug metabolism enzyme (DME) assays, solid understanding of biochemical pathways and enzyme kinetics, and expert knowledge of cell culture. Experience with microsomal DME assays and vesicle-based transporter assays is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with cell-based toxicity assays
• Ability to interpret pharmacokinetic data from in vitro studies
• Knowledge of major DMEs (CYP450s, UGTs, etc.) and transporters
• Ability to apply biochemical principles to drug metabolism and toxicology
• Proficiency in cell culture techniques (e.g., cell maintenance, passaging, differentiation etc.)
• Experience with primary cells, iPSCs and cell lines
• Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques and HTS
• Experience with data analysis and statistical computation (R or GraphPad Prism, Python)
• Ability to execute, troubleshoot and analyze experiments and to interpret results
• Familiarity or experience with machine learning
• Documentation of procedures and results in compliance with Electronic Lab Notebook guidelines
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel and present at conferences
• MS or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline

​​Description:
The Screening and Assay Development groups seeks a graduate in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, PharmTox and Experimental Therapeutics or a related discipline with experience in DMPK and discovery toxicology. The primary responsibility will be to conduct chemical testing using cell-based assays in vitro, interpret dose-responses and contribute to new assay development. The preferred candidate would have experience with cell cultures, screening and mechanistic toxicology assessments at the molecular and cellular level.

Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with cell-based assays
• Ability to interpret drug metabolism and PK data from in vitro studies
• Familiarity with structure-activity relationships for toxicity (e.g., structural alerts)
• Solid understanding of mechanisms of toxicity
• Proficiency in cell culture techniques (e.g., cell maintenance, passaging, differentiation etc.)
• Experience with primary cells, iPSCs and cell lines
• Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques and HTS
• Experience with data analysis and statistical computation (R or GraphPad Prism, Python)

Position:
Biomedical Engineer II – Brain 3D Cell Cultures and Biochemical Assays

​​Description:
The Translational Research & Development group seeks a Biomedical Engineering graduate (MS or higher) with experience in 3D neural cultures and biochemical assays. The primary responsibility will be to conduct drug and chemical testing. The preferred candidate would have hands-on experience with 3D cell cultures and screening in a toxicology or pharmaceutical laboratory (discovery or investigative toxicology). Experience with complex in vitro models, cell culture perfusion such as organ on a chip modalities, gene editing, functional activity recordings (MEA) and computation/machine learning are advantages. Biochemistry background is a plus, but not required. 

Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with complex tissue models
• Experience with iPSC-derived and primary 3D cell cultures, or tissue slices
• Hands-on experience with screening (biochemical assaying and assay multiplexing)
• Ability to generate and analyze dose-response curves
• Experience with data analysis, visualization, and statistical computation (R or GraphPad Prism, Python)
• Ability to execute, troubleshoot and analyze experiments and to interpret results
• Cellular biology techniques (gene editing, immunostaining, high-content imaging, image analysis, western blot)
• Molecular biology skills (mammalian cell DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/RT-PCR/qPCR)
• Familiarity or experience with multielectrode array (MEA) recordings
• Familiarity or experience with machine learning
• Documentation of procedures and results in compliance with Electronic Lab Notebook guidelines
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel and present at conferences
• MS or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
