Lena Biosciences offers a robust 3D cell culture system for routine, predictive testing in vitro. SeedEZ is a three-dimensional cell culture scaffold made of randomly oriented, inert glass microfibers. The diameter of microfibers is carefully optimized for long-term cell growth and repeat-dose drug testing. The microfibers are arranged in such a way that creates tiny pores for nutrients, gases, and metabolites to pass through the scaffold allowing normal cell functions.
With a simple workflow and consistent composition, SeedEZ can be used with all cell types. SeedEZ enables the cells to utilize their cadherin (cell-to-cell) and integrin (cell-to-ECM) receptors which are vital for biomimetic functions of the engineered tissue.
SeedEZ is ideal for biochemical assaying and assay multiplexing. It is suitable for long-term culture and multiple-dose drug testing. Unlike soft hydrogel-based scaffolds, SeedEZ does not peel off the culture dish, and does not get drawn into the pipette tip when the media is changed as can spheroid cultures. When compared to less porous rigid scaffolds, cells permeate SeedEZ readily, providing culture-to-culture and plate-to-plate reproducible, and consistent cell cultures in 3D.
